This is how mocap works

Robotics and CNC without mocap is like a pc without a mouse!

With the Motion Capture Interface named mocap users can reprogram the robotic movement without any programing knowledge.

The remote control consists of a handy cableless contoller, that administers by the sensoren every movment and conects via bluetooth- interface to the robotic control.

Up to six axis can be controlled. By confirming by a button the user tells the system that the movement should be saved and is to be taken over by the robot.

The automation opens up new areas.

“Programing is the past, mocap is present,” explains Peter Brinkmann, product development leader and a member of Schleicher management.

Mocap” is like a three dimensional mouse, that lets you control the movement of the robot.

The System opens up new areas of application. Movements that were not able to be programed or where the procedure was too complicated, can now be programed in a short time even by an assistant with no expert knowledge.

Mocap” changes robotic and cnc- usage like the mouse of the pc. You now can tell the robot simply what it is supposed to do.

Also an unsteady user has no problems. Software from Schleicher enables a precise and soft axis movement by interpolation of movement from a few points.

Inaccuracies and erratic movements will easily be smoothed. The potential of mocap today isnt measurable, just like the beginning of the computermouse wasn’t, because if the robotic support should find its way into the household and nursing it has to be a easy way to use.

“The simple and intuitve movement control, that mocap offers, can be adjusted to different areas very easily.

For example the handling can mean smaller, more cheaper lot sizes, and also the control of the robot in danger zones offers very new possiblilities, says Peter Brinkmann.

mocap distinguished with the Automation Award

The mocap robot control system has been distinguished as an Automation Awards Top10 product. The Automation Award, also referred to as the "Oscar of the Automation Industry", is an annual award presented at the SPS/IPC/Drives fair in Nuremberg. A jury consisting of members of VDMA, ZVEI and the editors of the electroAutomation trade journal nominate ten particularly innovative products, which are then presented to the fair's professional audience for voting.
